MainStreet’s Christmas 2021 Charity Donations

MainStreet’s Christmas 2021 charity donations

As we do every year, MainStreet has this Christmas donated a few thousand pounds to a range of charities – most of whom we have come across in our work in 2021.

  • This year, we made a donation to The Yard to support its 35th birthday campaign. Since 1986, it has been supporting disabled children and young people (aged 0-25) through adventure play alongside wraparound support for the whole family. @theyardscotland  https://www.theyardscotland.org.uk/Appeal/35
  • We’ve recently been doing work on community eating disorders provision and now recognise the increased volumes and complexity of eating disorders across the country. BEAT is the UK’s eating disorder charity, whose mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. They do a great job @beatED https://donate.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/page/87300/donate/1
  • We’ve also chosen to support Fife Gingerbread.  They specialise in supporting and empowering lone parents and families in need through early intervention and partnership working. @FifeGingerbread https://www.fifegingerbread.org.uk/justgiving
  • Our work with our friends at Clackmannanshire & Stirling HSCP led us to Town Break – a charity supporting families affected by a diagnosis of dementia.  They support families as soon as possible after diagnosis and offer them person-centred support for as long as they need it.  They offer various social groups including friendship groups, coffee clubs, cognitive stimulation therapy programmes, day clubs and befriending services.  Town Break will be 30 years old in 2022 and have big plans! @Townbreak https://townbreak.org/?page_id=106
  • Our final charity donation will be going to Changing Faces, which supports people who have a visible difference or disfigurement to lead the lives they want @FaceEquality  https://www.changingfaces.org.uk/donate/

At this time of year, please do consider supporting these charities too.

Best wishes to our clients, partners and friends for Christmas 2021 and for a safe 2022. Stay well.
