We are 10!
It’s sneaked up on us a little bit but MainStreet turns 10 years old today.
The team here will be celebrating with a wee party later, and we’ll reflect on what’s been achieved in that time. A lot of that is set out elsewhere on this website – there’s 50-odd examples of work we’ve done, across the UK but mainly covering virtually every part of Scotland. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made in those organisations and communities.
But, to be honest, we’re just delighted to still be around!
According to data provided by Companies House, around 60% of new businesses will fail in the first three years, and only around 33% will make it to a decade’s trading. In fact, the average age of a company in the UK in 2021-22 is now 8.6 years.
We must be doing something right.
Anyway, we want to thank our friends, colleagues and partner organisations for their support since 2013. And a bigger thanks to all of our clients: without them (and the risks some of you took even just in appointing us) we wouldn’t be here in 2023, looking forward to another 10 years.
